The composition analyzes the graphic and material architectural elements of Lake Flato’s Brown Residence in Scottsdale, Arizona. The box abstracts the overhanging roof plane and linear roof elements to create a central corner condition that begins to organize the rest of the box spatially. The three pale rectangular panels from the path along the exterior of the house, and are composed as an offset from the leading corner created from the roof elements. The box arranges these elements to focus on the square formed by the negative space between the smaller copper linear elements and the green corner condition.
