LIGHT TOWER
The tower is designed for a popular fictional detective well known for his personality quirks and unmatched deduction skills. the tower provides a consultation space for clients, a lab to conduct analysis and experiments, and a room for introverted use with a view to the subterranean entry path below. The design stems from juxtaposing complexity and simplicity, relating to the logical process the detective uses to unravel highly complex cases. The faceted skeletal structure is derived from the traditional use of thread on image boards used to make connections in cases. the building’s red hue at the base along with the path’s curvature resemble a smoking pipe, an icon of the Sherlock Holmes stories. The black tower blends into the surrounding landscape, mimicking Sherlock’s studies in urban camouflage.
